  • Draw a scaled number line showing numbers and approximate numbers.
  • Explain why:

  • an irrational number ⋅ a rational number = an irrational number

It is important to understand the language of algebra. If the directions tell you that all solutions are integer values or all
solutions are irrational, you need to be familiar with those words so that you can determine if you have the correct answer.
